Angelos Angelopoulos was born in Greece. He studied stage and costume design and he has been working as an interior designer since 1989. In 1990 he designed his first hotel ANDROMEDA ATHENS, which was among the few boutique hotels in Europe at that time. Since 1999 he has designed the interiors of more than 40 hotels, most of which were boutique hotels. Among his projects one can find residences, apartments, restaurants, clubs, show rooms etc.
He lives and works in Athens and he has done various projects all over Greece, as well as in Cyprus, in Istanbul, in New York and lately in Florida. Presentations and references to his work can also be found at the Japanese magazine CASA BRUTUS, at the French MARIE CLAIRE, at ELLE DECO, at TRAVELLER CONDE NAST, at Portuguese CASA CLAUDIA magazine, the Italian edition of AD, the Hong Kong HOME JOURNAL, the Russian 100% DESIGN, as well as in luxury hotel guides. The July of 2005 Hospitality Awards, following the rules established by the Chairman of the Advisory board and its members, have distinguished Mykonos Theoxenia hotel as finalist in the category Best Innovative concept in hotel lodging.
The above award was given in recognition of the most original concept/incorporating technical innovation, quality of service, design and decoration. Angelos Angelopoulos is repeatedly chosen and is included, among the world ‘s leading designers, in “ANDREW MARTIN INTERIOR DESIGN REVIEW FEATURING THE WORLD’S LEADING DESIGNERS” (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013). In 2010 Taschen Publications chose for the cover of the “INTERIORS NOW VOL.1”, one of his projects including it in the book.
